Learning By Extension In order to train Global Network Partners (serving internationally) as well as to facilitate training church-based sports and recreation ministers or leaders, Church Sports International is creating a four-course training program that will include three “academic” courses and one “practicum.”The three courses are designed to give a strong biblical apologetic as well as a philosophical undergirding to support the individual who needs to stimulate, educate and equip the local church to accomplish creative evangelism and discipleship through sports and recreation ministry.
The content for each course will include Church Sports International training manuals, DVD and Audio lectures as well as supplemental Power Point presentations. Each course will have relevant assignments that will allow the student to demonstrate command of the information as well as the ability to implement those concepts in the context of the local church. The fourth course (Download PDF for more information) is a practicum that will place the student in a church or parachurch setting (serving the local church) and give the student an opportunity to apply the concepts and training from the other courses. The Global Network Partners strategy was created to give CSI the opportunity to pursue, train, and utilize those trained to assist the local church around the world. GNP are also used in the partnership with OC International on short term mission’s efforts (by being embedded with Sports Ambassadors sports missionary teams) or as potential career (Sports Ministry Specialist) missionaries with OCI on one of their 25 global teams.
