Country Information |
In South Africa there are 40 million people and racial problems still abound in post-apartheid. There are big crime and safety issues. Aids is prevalent.
Extreme poverty and extreme wealth living side by side create a volatile mix. The people love their sport, however, and are very open to hearing the gospel
through the use of sports

Ministry Information |
God has called me and placed me in many rural and poor inner city schools. I am primarily developing and coaching basketball
and tennis in these areas, and sharing Christ with my players and the various schools and now prisons too. We are now involved
in trying to get the more affluent white churches involved in helping those in our town who have big physical needs like food,
clothing, school fees etc.. I also over see a ministry in Malawi (Sports Outreach Malawi) which has been sharing Christ through
sports for 6 years now. I also oversee a sports center in a squatter camp and I occasionally get to teach about sports ministry
through SCAS and other ISC workshops.

Testimonial |
| "60 kids showed up for our first basketball meeting at New Orleans High School. 35 kids came for tennis at
Paarl School of Skills. 50 kids are now in our basketball program in Klapmuts. A local prison has built hoops in an indoor
hall for us to have basketball practice. 16 teams will be playing in a basketball tournament later this month at a court
that we built. And in all these things the Gospel is presented and Christ is glorified. The kids are praying and are
being prayed for. Kids are getting shoes, getting balls, getting uniforms and being shown that someone cares for
them and loves them. I have the greatest job in the world!" |
